The University of Thessaly Library & Information Centre collaborates with Greek Educational Institutions [Universities (AEI) and Polytechnic Colleges (TEI)(1)] for the implementation of their students' practice programs. These library supervised practice programs refer to students attending courses in Library & Information Science (LIS) and Computer Science. Fundamental aim is to offer the students the possibility of acquiring valuable working experience(2) and of working in real-world professional conditions. Main objectives are to ensure that the students will be integrated as much as possible into the Library's daily operations, and that satisfying working conditions exist in order to help them exploit and develop their knowledge or/and acquire new knowledge and abilities regarding their professional development.
(1) The University of Thessaly Library & Information Centre is amenable to cooperate
exceptionally with other educational/training institutions too.
(2) Acquisition of professional experience: the Library also offers individuals the
possibility to acquire professional experience by accepting voluntary library job. |
