The Central Library collection supports the educational and research needs of the Department of Economics and of the Departments of the School of Engineering and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, while the collections of the Central Library Branches support the needs of the Departments located at the respective building complexes. Additionally, the Kitsos Makris Folklore Centre and the University's Historical Archive are distinct Central Library branches. A significant part of the collection was saved and transferred to a warehouse where it is kept until a new building facility becomes operational.
